The European Patent Office (EPO) is in the process of migrating their web publication, which is powered by the open source content management system Apache Lenya, from the Lenya version 1.2.4 to version 2.0.2. Since the website contains large amounts of content from different source publications, the EPO was looking for a partner to help their development team automatizing the migration. After winning the international bidding in 2008, the leading Apache Lenya specialist BeCompany implemented a set of modules to support the automatized import and workflow processing of large quantities of documents, including scheduling and sophisticated reporting functionality.
The import module allows to import a complete or partial Lenya 1.2 repository into a Lenya 2.0 repository at a specified position within the sitetree. The batch processing module allows to change the workflow state of a complete subtree recursively, which significantly reduces the necessary amount of interaction for the web authors and publishers.
